My Home Tour
It’s been 7 years now since we found the house of our dreams. It’s an early 1900’s historical home with an old farmhouse look that sits inside city limits with a massive yard! The home sat practically abandoned for well over 2 years before we took possession after an old prominent doctor that lived in the house had passed away. The house was never on the market for sale but, my mom lived down the block (at the time) and the once beautiful historical home was starting to become an eye sore. My mom always loved the house so she (somehow) got a family members phone number to see if they needed help with upkeep. From there, we met with the family to buy it. Long story short it took another 7 grueling months of haggling with family members to buy the house. The house was still completely loaded top to bottom as you will see in my “before” pictures. So, to get the ball rolling faster we finally made an agreement to buy all contents the family no longer wanted in the house after finding out we were pregnant with our 5th child and time wasn’t on our side anymore.
You see, I tell this long story because we didn’t just buy our house off the market. It took lots of time and patience for us to get our house. I honestly wanted to throw the towel in numerous times because patience is something I lack but, my husband always kept us on the right track and grounds me in almost everything we do. And, here we are today enjoying every second of our home.
